Children and the Hidden Elements of Videogames

About the Project

Also in its earliest stages and also falling squarely in the space of designing for deception, this new Fall 2024 project looks at children as a vulnerable user population and how they are socialized by the hidden, addictive, and/or social elements of videogames.  We see this as both a series of discrete projects as well as an overarching problem space in which the implications for design and policy outcomes could be substantial.  Again, stay tuned for which piece of this we turn to first!

This project is a collaboration with Nick Abegg and Dr. Apu Kapadia.
